After a very long day in transit yesterday I'm glad to be in Rwanda. Today is an acclimatisation day and I visited the Rwandan Genocide Museum today.  Up to 1 million people died in 100 days, tortured and brutally murdered, this was one of the quickest and bloodiest genocides in current history. Yet again colonial rule and interfering in countries it doesn't understand causes so much bloodshed.

This is the burial site of the murdered, most people here have not been identified so families come here to mourn not knowing whether their loved ones are here. There are three floors of these burial areas at the memorial and they really are as long as they look in the photo.

It is a sobering experience but necessary to remember to try to stop it happening again.
